Exploring Nopi’s offerings

Yotam Ottolenghi’s first high-end restaurant makes a surprising first impression. Nopi’s walls are entirely tiled with white ceramic squares. Though this might sound cold and sterile in theory, the mixture of wooden floors and minimalist oil lamps of brass and glass along the walls make for a very welcoming atmosphere, quite the feat for an up-market restaurant that has caused a big stir around London and endless waiting lists for reservations since its opening in autumn, 2011.

It is somewhat ironic that invites for emerging designers’ shows are the hardest to obtain during London Fashion Week as under regular circumstances young creatives in any industry struggle for all the press coverage they can get.
